The River Valley Civic Centre, "a place for everyone", is located at 11 School St, between Southern Victoria High School and Andover Elementary School. The centre houses the Recreation Commission offices, an ice surface (used as a roller rink in spring/summer), indoor walking track (scheduled hours), a canteen, a boardroom, a large meeting/activity room, and the Active Living Fitness Centre.
Nestled in the middle of the recreation core of the community, next to the outdoor pool, you will find outdoor basketball and tennis/pickleball courts. Each winter season, the local Perth-Andover Fire Department volunteers work many hours to prepare the ice for our community to use. Our portable Waterfront building is moved over each fall to provide a washroom facility and changing/warm area for users. This facility is the highlight of winter for skating and hockey enthusiasts. This facility is equipped with video camera surveillance, and any damage, horseplay, etc. witnessed may result in individuals being banned from the facility or the facility being permanently locked. PLEASE RESPECT our wonderful facilities.
The ODR (Outdoor Rink) Building Hours of Operation:
Daily 10am-8pm (the building will automatically lock at 8:15pm, so be sure to get all of your belongings.)
Skating Only Times (no hockey sticks, pucks, etc.) Daily 12-1pm and 4-5pm. If not skaters are present, then hockey can be played. ..... Read more
There are 3 major Trail systems that travel through Perth-Andover:
As part of the NB Trail system, the International Appalachian Trail (IAT) enters New Brunswick at the border of Fort Fairfield, Maine and Perth Andover. It tracks northeast through Mount Carleton Provincial Park and up and over the highest point in the Maritimes. The trail then leads north to Tide Head and crosses into Quebec’s Gaspé Peninsula at Matapédia.
The Great Trail, also known as the Trans Canada Trail also travels through Perth-Andover, with a paved portion that is enjoyed for hiking and biking in the summer months as well as snowmobiling in the winter.
The New Brunswick Trail is a vast network of trails (sometimes intersecting with other trails) stretching across the province. This trail is a multi-purpose trail, used by hikers and while it is restricted to motor vehicles, dirtbikes and ATVs frequently use it for travel.. This trail travels the entire province from Edmundston to Saint Andrews and Sackville to Tracadie-Sheila, in the north.
